In June we went to Colorado to visit Jim's family. It was an amazing trip! The kids are such great travelers in the car and it was so fun to spend so much time as a family!!
After spending a day with Jim's sister in Las Vegas, we made it to Jim's parents home in the mountains of Colorado. The first full day we were there was a Sunday, so we went to church with Grandma and Grandpa and that night we went driving through the mountain to see what animals we could see. We were blessed to see 6 moose and more elk than we could count!! One moose walked across the street in front of us to join another one in the bushes. Then we saw the other 4 a little further up the rode not to far from the street. We also saw 5 male elk grazing just right off the rode. They had huge antlers! We counted 12 points on one of them. Then we went on to see the many more elk on our drive. At one place we stopped we counted 46 all in one meadow. This vacation could definitely be named the animal trip, because we saw animals every day we were there, including when we went down the mountain into Denver. It was amazing how close we got to many of them! The boys loved it!!
