Camping by the Creek

It's amazing that we have been married for 9 1/2 yrs and have never been camping on our own.
We have always found someone to go with us, so it was a different experience for us this time going as a small little family (or big, depending our your point of view).
It is a lot of work to go camping, but adventurous and fun!
The 1st night we roasted the traditional hot dogs and marsh mellows on the campfire.
I love a great campfire!!
We loved playing at the creek in the morning, and playing hide and seek in the afternoon.
Later, just as we were pulling dinner off of the fire, it started to rain. We ate and played Yahtzee inside our tent. Besides Logan keeping me up all night long on the second night, it was a great experience!
The boys found some meal worms, and Caleb adopted one as his own personal pet. He held the poor thing in his hand for a few hours.

The boys tried catching some fish with the meal worms, but ended up catching crawdads instead! I think it was just as much fun as fishing and very exciting!!
We brought the 2 crawdads home, but they didn't live for very long.

Caleb was trying to protect his face from the heat. :)
